Remember those preset screensavers on your Windows computer? I remember having the beautiful image with the unreal rocks in red shaping up to the sky. At the time, I didn’t even fathom that it was a real place.
It is real.
Like, really real.
During our yearly winter trip with Indiana we try to go somewhere enchanting and new and pet friendly! This time we ventured to the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas. Lower Antelope Canyon was the main stop.
The land is actually still owned by the Navajo people and you have to buy a guided tour to go down. There are two different companies when you come down the road, both places are comparable in price.
We had to take a very steep set of staircases to get down into the canyon. Puppies, as you can imagine, were not allowed- Indy slept in back at the hotel.
Being surrounded between the canyon walls was such a treat. We went in the early morning and next time would probably go in more of the peak of the afternoon to get the maximum light and color from the canyon walls.
This place is a must stop if you ever find yourself in Northern Arizona.
